Hi,
Its been a long time since I've dated in any capacity at all, but in light of a fairly recent breakup and the realisation that my social life has hit a proverbial brick wall, I'm presently considering trying online dating for the first time. Although I meet quite a lot of people whilst at university, I want to open my horizons even further. Not necessarily with the view to anything serious (can't be done with that atm), but more so that I can get out and have a laugh.
Back in 2009 when I was last single, online dating was still considered by many to be the antithesis of "real world" dating, and as such, it had somewhat of a stigma attached to it. Although, a lot has changed since then; more and more people seem to be using dating and meetup apps, the modern dynamic of peoples lives sometimes doesn't allow for them to meet new people outside of work / education etc. I do wonder if that stigma still exists. Does it?
Has anyone got any online dating success stories, or even horror stories? Are some sites / apps generally considered better than others? If so, which ones? Are there any good reasons not to try online dating?
Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
